Mentors needed for 4S/EASST conference

Dear Danish STS’ers,

Please consider joining the mentor program of the upcoming 4S/EASST
conference. Mentors are badly needed, and this is an excellent way of
welcoming new STS scholars to our field. The organizers of the mentor
program promise that it will be fun, easy and not time consuming (read the
details below). I believe them! Best wishes
Torben Elgaard Jensen

Dear STS faculty, postdocs and senior graduate students,

Please consider mentoring a junior scholar at the upcoming 4S/EASST
meeting in Copenhagen.  We are in dire need of your help this year.
Right now, we need 70 (yes seventy!) more mentors for the 4S Mentorship
Program!  It would be a shame to tell 70 young scholars that we don’t
have a mentor for them.

IT’S NOT TIME CONSUMING:
Being a mentor only means committing to have one conversation with a
junior scholar at the meeting in Copenhagen.  We hope that the
relationship will continue with a few email exchanges during the year.

IT’S FUN:
Mentors report that they enjoy interacting with junior scholars.  It’s
a chance to meet an enthusiastic young scholar and see the direction
that the STS field is moving.

IT’S EASY:
Just take 3 minutes right now and fill out this form
http://www.4sonline.org/meeting/mentorship_program

We’ll match you up with a junior scholar with similar interests and
even send you a list of questions that can be used to guide your
conversation.

If you are a postdoc or a senior graduate student (ie 3rd year or more)
and have been to 4S before, please consider signing up to be a mentor.
And if you are a first or second year student, please forward this email
to your advisor and members of your committee.  Encourage those going to
Copenhagen to mentor a junior scholar from a different institution.

Thank you!
